Bottega Veneta crush

bottega veneta

I always knew I would like it but actually never had a closer look. A thing I did last week when working on a mystery shopping project.

Bottega Veneta has this very special thing, a thing we call identity. Such a challenge, but they succeeded. It’s elegant, materials are impressive, not to mention the colors (pastel, almost dusty). I fell in love.

The shopping experience was a delight and I didn’t want to leave the shop, even though I was on a tight schedule. Simplicity and elegance. And then there was this:bottega venetaA daring and beautiful shirt, nonchalant, melancholic, ethnic almost (if I knew I would one day associate those two words together! Elegant and ethnic!).

The work of Thomas Maier is stunning, surprisingly surprising and never boring. From the prêt à porter to the accessories, everything is coherent. I approve 10 thousand times and I leave you with these.bottega veneta bottega veneta

Balenciaga Day

balenciagaI was going through the articles I wrote previously and was surprised to see that I never mention my Balenciaga Day bag. It is the perfect color (light brown/cognac or biche as Balenciaga calls it), messenger format (very comfortable to wear and spacious). It has this ability to take the shape of your body and follows your movements. I recommend it and am pretty impressed by the quality of the leather – it is quite robust. Disappointing is though the weakness of the stitching. But anyway, it is my everyday bag and would be happy to post more pic if you want! Let me know what you think about this bag!

Beijing fever

Weekend shoppingAs you might know, I used to live in Beijing (that’s actually where the project Le Lapin Volant was born!). Well, this weekend I was back home, my second home, Beijing.

And I had the chance to go back to my favorite place. A place to chill and to buy stationary. Notebooks, iPad cover and Macbook Air case: the colors are great, the designs simple and efficient. The bag is from Zara new collection – a must buy guys. Ideal for a weekend or just a day trip! I personally use it to carry my cameras around.

I could not resist and had to post this picture of where my friend Iona leaves. Being an art critic in Beijing, she definitely needs an edgy and distinguishable place to leave. The hutong area (narrow alleys – a real maze for the foreigners) is the traditional housing of Beijing. Now taken over by the hipsters and other artsy people, the place is changing, transforming itself. That’s where Iona leaves. In this salad bowl where the dust and the cats are out of control. She chose to elevate herself and leaves in this amazing concrete box, up in the air.iona beijing hutong

This weekend was also the weekend when my Repetto became wearable. It might be the 5th pair I own and it always take them a few weeks to get them to fit you perfectly and take that shape that means “nobody else can wear them”, they are MINE.

Super Prada – Caramel Weekender

Prada weekender

So here we are in Shanghai, China. Shopping malls and luxury boutiques all around. I paid a visit to one of them today, at Plazza 66. They have there all the big names and especially the biggest Louis Vuitton Maison in the world. But that will not be the topic of this article.
I never really knew what Prada stands for. It’s Italian, ok. Its name rimes with glamour and chic, ok. Their women bags are amazing indeed as well as the prêt-à-porter. I fell in love with another piece though, a weekender, caramel color, as usual. Veal leather, subtle logo and clean lines. All this in a bag – WANT IT!

Today’s look #1

Look of the day

I’ve been wanting to post about my style for a little while but thought it would not be appropriate. I was going through my recent pics and thought this one was worth posting.

Finally got the damier keepall I was craving for. I’m here wearing a Topman suit (very nice quality and reasonable price) and a Mao collar Sandro shirt, a present from two very good friends.

Hope you like it and that it inspires you! See you later
